This wood lathe is great for people that are new to wood turning. It is very easy to use and is very powerful for its size.

It was red ;-) the tool rest broke after 3 weeks of heavy (novice) use but good, mostly sturdy value, does what it says on the tin

firstly-- this is a hobby wood lathe, and my second week of use.. I very much like the machine it is solid its not a light machine .. so it needs a permanent spot not something to carry back and forth to work on...it is heavy enough and stays put on my bench.. I did wonder if it would need bolting / fixing down, but no it stays still.. All the controls are easy.. ( you have to connect the control box to the machine.. the only item that is separate upon delivery ).... If i have one small gripe it is that the tool rest is a bit short...in it is around 150MM ( 6 inches ) long... so for anything longer.. you have to keep moving it along the bed....As the machine can easily accommodate items 300mm long.. you really need an alternative tool rest my only criticism.... have not had need to change belt speed on pulleys.. but looks an easy enougth affair...The instructions on use are '' satisfactory '' not perfect but understandable and give some practical advise of safety and use..As you can see on my attached photos.. it does a fine job.....

Hubby loves his new hobby and is learning what he can do!
