Needed to do some corrosion studies without breaking the bank on equipment costs. This heating mantle coupled with Deschem glassware did the trick. My only complaint is the probe. The wire guard spring at the top of the probe doesn't seem to be made from stainless given exposure to water caused it to rust a little. The probe itself is stainless. Probe could be a bit longer as when using with a 2L kettle with 1.5 L in it I have to rig the probe so that the spring portion on top of the probe is inside the kettle. The kettle does have a very tall top though. You of course could use a different probe, but strangely it uses a 5 pin DIN connector 11/24 Update. It has been through maybe 40 days of use and today while set to 55 C it started boiling the water based product inside of it. Not certain if it is the thermocouple or something else in the electronics. Hard to troubleshoot with using a non-standard thermocouple adapter. Will have to change that out to a stardard fitting and go from there.
